GFFL League Scoring - 2006 Season
Blitz League Scoring | All-Pro League Scoring
Blitz League Scoring Overview:
Below is an overview of GFFL's Blitz League scoring format. You should always refer to the scoring report on the league's Web site for the precise scoring setup.
In general, Rushing and Receiving TDs are worth 6 pts, and Passing TDs are worth 5 pts. Passing yards are worth 1 pt for each 25 yards while rushing and receiving yards are worth 1 pt for each 10 yards. In addition, field goals, extra points, 2-point conversion, fumbles lost, and interceptions all play a factor in the final score.
Team defense starts with 10 pts for a shutout, but as the other team scores, points are deducted. Interceptions, fumble recoveries, sacks and defensive/special team touchdowns all play a factor in team defense.
Points allowed against a defense include the total points scored while the opposing team's offense is on the field. Points scored by that team's defense will not penalize your defense.
Tie Breakers for Blitz Leagues:
Scores will be calculated to the first decimal point (instead of rounded-off) to minimize ties. Otherwise, ties will be recorded as ties.
All-Pro League Overview:
Each League is formed of 12 teams separated into three divisions of four teams each. During the regular season teams will meet in head to head matches, which will determine a team's win / loss record. Based on that win / loss record, the three division champions plus three wild card teams will be bowl-bound and advance to the playoffs. The playoffs are played out over Weeks 14 & 15, with the two surviving teams meeting in the GFFL Super Bowl in Week 16.
Rosters Reminder:
Teams will be required to maintain a minimum of 9 players which will comprise their starting lineup as follows:
QB - 1, RB - 2, WR - 3, TE - 1, PK - 1, DT - 1 (Defensive Team includes Special Teams as well)
Scoring:
These scoring details will be available as a link on your league's Web site throughout the season for easy reference.
Offense (includes QB, RB, WR, TE, & PK) - Below is the detailed GFFL scoring format. In general, Rushing and Receiving TDs are worth 6 pts, and Passing TDs are worth 5 pts. Passing yards are worth 1 pt for each 25 yards while rushing and receiving yards are worth 1 pt for each 10 yards. In addition, fumbles, 2-point conversions, Place Kickers, and interceptions all play a factor in the final score.
Place Kickers will get an additional point for any FGs beyond 40 yards. However, PKs will be penalized for Missed FGs and Missed Extra Points. All offensive players will also be penalized for throwing interceptions or fumbles lost (does not include fumbles recovered by the offensive team).

Defense (includes the entire defense and special teams play) - Team defense starts with 10 pts for a shutout, but for points the other team scores, points are deducted. Interceptions, fumble recoveries, sacks and defensive/special team touchdowns all play a factor in team defense. Any Defense or Special Teams TDs will count as 6 points.
Points allowed against a defense include the total points scored while the opposing team's offense is on the field. Points scored by that team's defense will not penalize your defense. Points scored by the other teams Special Teams will also count against your defense/special teams scoring. Specifically, Offensive Point Against only counts TDs and FGs made by the opposing offensive, extra points (1 & 2-pointers) and special teams TDs do not count against your defense. However, because the DT includes special teams, Special Teams TDs Against will be deducted from your DT's score.

The GFFL Scoring Rules apply for all All-Pro leagues. If you have a private GFFL league, these rules may be modified with league agreement. Please contact GFFL with any questions.
