Each league will consist of 24-64 teams competing in a single division against each other team. Each week, every team in the league will play head-to-head against all other teams. The team with the best record is the weekly winner. The overall league champion will be the team with the best, overall record over the 17-week over the course of the 17-week season.

Blitz League Awards:
Super Bowl Champion
Full-Size NFL/NCAA Team Helmet
Additional Prizes based on league size
** Prizes will vary based on final league size. More prize announcements will be made.

Rosters:
Each team can select up to 16 players. Teams will be required to maintain a minimum of 9 players which will comprise their starting lineup as follows:

QB - 1
RB - 2
WR - 3
TE - 1
PK - 1
DT - 1

Teams will be permitted to carry any combination of players on their roster so long as they can fulfill the starting requirements and do not exceed the limit of 16 maximum. Roster changes can be made every week, at any time.

The Draft:
There is NO draft. Each week, you can choose any players to play on your team.

Trades:
There is NO need to trade as ALL players are available for your roster.

Lineups:
Weekly lineups must be submitted on the Web site before game time and will be automatically updated once completed. When there is Thursday or Saturday games, owners will be able to submit partial lineups before those early games with the rest of the lineup submitted before the usual Sunday game. Once a game has begun for that week, a player's status (starting or non-starting) cannot be changed. If you have a player in a Thursday or Saturday game that was on roster last week it is important that you take them out of your lineup if you do not want them to be played that week.

If a team has not updated their lineup by game time, the prior week's lineup will be used.

Scoring:
Below is an overview of GFFL's Blitz League scoring format. You should always refer to the scoring report on the league's Web site for the precise scoring setup.

In general, Rushing and Receiving TDs are worth 6 pts, and Passing TDs are worth 5 pts. Passing yards are worth 1 pt for each 25 yards while rushing and receiving yards are worth 1 pt for each 10 yards. In addition, field goals, extra points, 2-point conversion, fumbles lost, and interceptions all play a factor in the final score.

Team defense starts with 10 pts for a shutout, but as the other team scores, points are deducted. Interceptions, fumble recoveries, sacks and defensive/special team touchdowns all play a factor in team defense.

Points allowed against a defense include the total points scored while the opposing team's offense is on the field. Points scored by that team's defense will not penalize your defense.

Tie Breakers for Blitz Leagues:
Scores will be calculated to the first decimal point (instead of rounded-off) to minimize ties. Otherwise, ties will be recorded as ties.

All-Pro League Overview
:

All-Pro Leagues offer end-of-year cash prizes for the best teams. Each League is formed of 12 teams separated into three divisions of four teams each. During the regular season teams will meet in head to head matches, which will determine a team's win / loss record. Based on that win / loss record, the three division champions plus three wild card teams will be bowl-bound and advance to the playoffs. The playoffs are played out over Weeks 14 & 15, with the two surviving teams meeting for the GFFL Super Bowl in Week 16.

All-Pro League Awards:
Super Bowl Champion
$150
Super Bowl Runner Up
$50
Division Champions
$20 / Div

The Draft: (All-Pro Leagues)
Teams will be formed in a draft that is a serpentine draft. The serpentine draft will be carried out in 1-12 then 12-1 order (known as 'serpentine' or 'switchback'). Serpentine drafts may be done in live draft format (4-6 hours on a chat site) or in Email format (over several weeks). The order for serpentine drafts is decided by a dice roll from a neutral Internet dice server (starting from lowest to highest).

Live Draft - Live drafts will be conducted on the league's chat site at the time posted for your league. There is a two (2) minute time limit per pick and picks are made in serpentine order. If you have not made your selection within the two minute period, the individual running the draft may make a selection for your team. Trading of draft picks is allowed in Live Draft Leagues, but all trades must be submitted for approval by the evening before the draft takes place. Live drafts will be held on Saturdays and Sundays during the month of August. For specific dates on this year's drafts, please be sure to look at the League Schedules.

Email Draft - Email drafts will be available, however they will start early. Email drafts will start on the Friday of a weekend with the intent to get the majority of draft picks completed by the end of the weekend. The use of Pre-Draft Selections will greatly expedite draft completion and should be utilized to the maximum extent. A 24 hour time limit for each pick will be strictly enforced, with the computer picking the best available player remaining (which may not be a need for your team or a player you want). The time limit will be decreased if team owners do not promptly draft players and utilize the Pre-Draft Selection function. Teams will receive 24 hours of notice prior to changing the time limit. Please look closely at the League Schedules to see when each league drafts.

Teams are required to submit all draft picks by accessing the league's system which will generate an Email to all members of the league. Do NOT use the Live Draft Function! Because of delays in the Internet, the GFFL cannot be responsible for delays in Emails or missing Emails. In addition to sending Emails for each pick, the system updates the draft report as well as the roster report. Team owners should check the draft report periodically for updates. Emails may contain multiple draft picks if teams have pre-drafted. Trading of both players and draft picks is permitted during the Email draft.

Again, teams are strongly encouraged to "pre-draft" by submitting a list of players and the system will automatically award you the highest listed available player when your turn comes up. For information on pre-drafting follow this link: http://www8.myfantasyleague.com/fflnet2002/coach.html#predraft

Draft Requirements
The draft will proceed for 18 rounds. The number of players to be drafted at each position is up to the discretion of the team owner. Teams will be allowed to draft any combination of players during the draft so long as they are able to field a legal starting lineup of 9 players by the end of the draft.

It is suggested that the following be acquired during the draft to allow you to field a full team and provide for Bye weeks:

2 QBs - one quarterback is started each week
4 RBs - 2 running backs are started each week
5 WRs - 3 wide receivers are started each week
2 TEs - one tight end is started each week
2 PKs - one kicker is started each week
2 DTs - one defensive team is started each week.
1 Extra - one extra player at any position of special need

When trading draft picks, it is best to trade for an even number of picks. In the event that a player is traded for a draft pick, it is suggested that you also include your final round pick with the player being traded. This will insure that all teams are at the roster limit once the draft is complete. In the event that your team is UNDER the roster limit when the draft is complete, you will not be able to fill the position(s) until the first free agency period of the season, prior to Week 1 of the regular season. Teams that are OVER the roster limit will have one week from the completion of the draft to notify the commissioner of the player(s) to be released. In the event that the commissioner is not notified, the last player(s) selected will be released.

Rosters:
Teams will be required to maintain a minimum of 9 players which will comprise their starting lineup as follows:

QB - 1
RB - 2
WR - 3
TE - 1
PK - 1
DT - 1

Teams will be permitted to carry any combination of players on their roster so long as they can fulfill the starting requirements and do not exceed the limit of 18 maximum.

Roster changes, including free agent pickups, are permitted up to and including Week 13, but trades are suspended after Week 11. Free agents cannot be added during the playoffs.

Lineup changes can be made each week including playoff weeks.

Free Agent Acquisitions
Each week there will be a free agent draft held on Wednesday evening and teams can pick up free agents. The deadline is 11:59 PM ET on Wednesday; including on weeks when there is an early game on Thursday. All free agent requests must be submitted via the online system. Free-agent requests Emailed to the commissioner will not be honored.

During the season, the teams of lowest standing will have the first picks each week for free agents. Ties will be broken in favor of winning percentage and then total points for the season. The weekly draft will go through the order 1-12 and then repeat the same 1-12 order for four rounds.

Teams will usually need to cut a player for each free agent acquired in order to stay within the total player limit. In the event that a cut is needed, but not submitted, the pick up will not be made.

The last free agent draft of the season will be held before week 13. Free agents cannot be picked up during the playoffs.

The free agent order will be determined by overall record, followed by total points scored.

After the weekly free-agent picks have been processed, owners may pick up players on a first come, first serve basis. Players dropped during the week are not eligible to be picked up until the following week's free agency period. These players will be listed under the "Locked Players" link on your league home page.

Trades:
There is NO limit to the number of players a team can trade in a given week. Both teams need to give approval and list terms of the trade for it to be confirmed. This can either be done through the league's Web site or via Email. Once approved by the league commissioner, the trade will be official. Trade results will be posted on the Web site for each league. As a trade is approved, the team(s) rosters will automatically be updated and a transaction record will be listed.

Trades must be completed and confirmed by both sides before the first game of each week and can only be done during the league's regular season (prior to Week 11).

If a trade is proposed within 24 hours from kickoff, prior to review, each team must also submit a secondary line-up that does not include players picked up in the trade. This is to ensure that an additional line-up is available to revert to, in case the trade is questioned by the league, and then vetoed.

Players acquired are available immediately for use in the lineup the week they are picked up.

A player cannot be traded back to a team until FIVE GAMES have passed. This is to avoid collusion. If you trade RB Priest Holmes to "Team B" before Week 3, Team B cannot trade him back to you until five games have passed. He could then trade Holmes back to you after Week 7's games were played.

Trading of Draft/Free-Agent Selection Picks: Teams can trade draft picks for draft picks or draft picks and/or players. Free-agent selection slots cannot be traded during the year.

Protesting Trade or Results:
The league has the ability to veto a trade with 60 percent (six teams) of the league vote. The parties involved in the trade CANNOT vote for or against their own trade. A vote to veto a trade must be PROPOSED within 48 hours of the trade becoming official. If a trade is one-sided or collusion between owners is suspected, the trade will be vetoed. All steps will be taken to ensure fairness!

Prior to a trade revocation, the commissioner will contact the trading parties to get their explanation for the trade, and to possibly see if the deal can be reworked if great disapproval is voiced.

If the trade goes to league vote, the owners will have the final say in determining whether or not a trade can stand or be vetoed. The following criteria are the ONLY criteria to be considered when voting for a trade.

Any time a trade makes it to vote, you must include a detailed explanation to the commissioner as to why you are voting against a trade.

Reasons that are not acceptable for a veto vote:

Lineups:
Lineups must be submitted on the Web site before game time and will be automatically updated once completed.

The act of "throwing games" (losing on purpose by turning in a lineup filled of players that normally would not play) is not tolerated. We will revert your starting lineup back to a typical lineup for games that are tried to be thrown and further action may also take place, including removing you from the league.

Scoring:
Below is an overview of GFFL's scoring format.

Weekly Match Play:
Each week during the regular season every team in the league will have a head-to-head match with one of the other teams in the league. This will continue through Week 13 of the regular season. Every match will result in a win, loss or tie.

Teams will play division rivals twice during the season and seven of the other teams in the league once.

Ties will be decided in favor of the team with the better score from a designated non-starting player decided when the lineups are submitted.

Playoffs:
The three division champs will be ranked 1-3 based upon winning percentage. The next best three teams, based upon winning percentage or sort criteria listed below, will qualify for the playoffs as WILDCARD teams. The wildcard teams will be ranked 4-6.

Round 1 (Week 14) wildcard game will feature seeds 4 versus 5 and 3 versus 6.

Round 2 (Week 15) will have the No. 1 seed versus the lowest remaining seed and the No. 2 seed versus the higher seeded first round winner. Winners advance to the GFFL Super Bowl (Week 16).

Tie Breakers: (All-Pro Leagues)
Division Standings: Sorted first by winning percentage, then divisional winning percentage, then by total points, then by head-to-head record. The Division Record will only be used to determine each division champion. If two or more division champions have the same record, Total Points and Head-to-Head record will be used to determine each seeding.

Wildcard spot: Sorted first by winning percentage, then by total points, then by head-to-head record, then by coin flip.

During playoffs, if two teams are still tied after the designated non-starter has been figured in, the tie will be broken by the highest scoring starting player, followed by second highest scoring player, etc. (except defense/special team).

Private League Overview:
Private GFFL leagues offer many levels of customization. Work closely with GFFL team members to develop the rules and scoring for your private league. Here is a list of items to select when designing your private GFFL:

Number of Teams: Most fantasy football leagues use a 12-team format. We can support any number of teams.
Number of Divisions: With a set number of teams, how will they be divided into Divisions?
Draft Options: Choose from Live On-Line Draft, an Email Draft, or do it live together and then input the results. Draft in random order or try an auction draft. All these options are supported.
Roster Spots: Determine how many players each team can draft and maintain on their rosters. This may also depend on the number of teams.
League Scoring: The scoring can include over 100 variables in the GFFL. Choose from standard scoring packages, or define your own scoring. Include all the normal offensive positions and a defensive team - or even consider using individual defense players. The options are almost unlimited. We'll work closely to get the scoring system you want for your private league.
Transactions: How will waivers and trades be executed? What restrictions will be placed to ensure fair access to available players?
League Schedule: With a set number of teams and divisions, determine who will play who. Have teams play division rivals twice a year... we'll help you set the year's fantasy schedule.
Playoff Schedule: How many teams will make the playoffs? And when will they begin? For a competitive Super Bowl game, it may be best to play it in Week 16 - as many players may be rested in Week 17.
Custom Interface: Change the colors, include team logos, add personal messages to your private league - all these options are supported as well.

Bottom Line: We'll make your GFFL private league the league you want - down to each and every little detail. Contact us early to get started!
